As the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) prepares for its 2025 parliamentary elections, acquiring knowledge about the demographics of voters becomes crucial for political parties and policymakers striving to effectively engage with constituents. This groundbreaking report offers essential insights into voter profiles, the electorate's readiness for the 2025 polls, sources of information regarding political parties, top issues and concerns of likely voters, reasons motivating party selection, and opportunities for election stakeholders based on the findings.
Researchers with the Institute for Autonomy and Governance interviewed 50 key informants at the national, regional and local-government levels, conducted 10 focus group discussions with 78 sector and community leaders, and surveyed 150 beneficiaries of various programs and projects identified as part of the National Action Plan on Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (NAP P/CVE) in selected municipalities of the five provinces of BARMM.
This IAG research urges stakeholders to ensure the success of P/CVE initiatives in BARMM through ongoing support for LGU-level programs, cultural tailoring, and transparent funding mechanisms. The full report will be released in December 2023.
