WE ARE THE PROFESSIONAL FIREFIGHTERS PROUD TO BE PROTECTING THE TOWNSHIP OF LANGLEY!
International Association of Fire Fighters ( IAFF ) Local 4550 Township of Langley Professional Firefighters represents the concerns of the Township of Langley’s fire service professionals, ensuring the workplace safety and well being of our members.
The IAFF is the labour organization representing fire service workers across North America, upholding professional standards for more than 350,000 members.
Chartered in 2006, Local 4550’s roster includes the Fire Inspectors, Public Educators, Training Officers, and Suppression firefighters employed by the Township of Langley, in the Greater Vancouver Region of British Columbia, Canada.
As the fire service professionals protecting the Township of Langley we are trained to prevent and respond to medical and fire emergencies, as well as many and varied rescue situations. We work as a united front to mitigate hazards, and ensure the most positive outcome for the circumstances that required we be called to the scene.
We currently have 127 members, who work out of four fire stations: Hall 3 Aldergrove, Hall 4 Willoughby, Hall 6 Murrayville & Hall 8 Walnut Grove.
Beyond our day-to-day professional service, L4550 encourages its members to uphold the long-standing tradition of community outreach by firefighters, through our Charitable Society and Honour Guard. We are also active advocates for heightened standards of community safety through our Political Action Committee.
