Dr. Izidor Sabotin received his Ph.D. in manufacturing technologies from University of Ljubljana in 2013 on the topic of micro technologies. He works at the Faculty of mechanical engineering (UNI Lj) in the department of Manufacturing technologies and systems as a researcher and teaching assistant. During his PhD he spent two months at the University of Padua and University of Cardiff as a visiting researcher. His fields of research are connected to micromanufacturing processes (especially micro EDM milling) and process chains in connection with microfluidic devices. His interest lies in development, modelling, optimization and production of microfluidic devices. He is a first author of five and co-author of nine original scientific papers in journals such as Chemical engineering research & design, Micromachines and Journal of Micro- and Nano-Manufacturing. He is also a co-author of two international patents.
