Things to remember about your Chromebook:

  • Please use your Chromebook for educational purposes.

  • Food and liquids should not be near your Chromebook, because they may spill into the keyboard.

  • Please keep your Chromebook in the case, if you have one, at all times to avoid damage.

  • Please do not lay your Chromebook on the floor, because it may get stepped on.

  • Please do not place pencils, earbuds, or papers on your keyboard, because you may lay down the screen and crack it.

  • Please do not store your Chromebook in an area that is extremely hot or cold such as the car.

If your Chromebook is damaged please report it to your classroom teacher immediately, so the teacher may contact tech support for a substitute device.

Common Issues and Quick Fixes:

1) Many issues occurring with a Chromebook are because you have not "signed out" and shutdown your device in a while. Click in the bottom right corner and sign out. Then tap the power button. Wait about 25 seconds and turn Chromebook back on.

2) My sound is not working on my Chromebook. Try this! Click in the bottom right corner and check the volume level. If it still isn't working then click on the arrow and the end of volume area to visit the Audio settings. Be sure the green checks are shown. If these ideas do not resolve the issue, then report it to your classroom teacher.

3) My charger is not charging my device. Try this! Have a parent or guardian check all cords to be sure they are inserted correctly. Try another outlet in your home. Be sure you have the device plug in to the correct insert in the Chromebook. If these ideas do not resolve the issue, then report it to your classroom teacher.
