Science Matters!
I have been teaching for 28 years in Hampden/WilbrahamRegional School District. I'm very excited for the upcoming school year!
I am passionate about Science and really enjoy teaching the 8th grade curriculum. Some topics we will be learning about are:
Earth's Place in the Universe
Earth's Systems
Earth and Human Activity
From Molecules to Organisms: Structures and Processes
Heredity: Inheritance and Variation of Traits
Biological Evolution: Unity and Diversity
Matter and It's Interactions
Motion and Stability: Forces and Interactions
Looking Forward to a GREAT year!!
Math, the only subject that COUNTS! ;-)
Just kidding-they are all equally important, but as I consider myself a bit of a "Math Geek," I get very excited about numbers and Algebra! [Yet, I am "directionally" challenged-go figure!] We all have strengths and weaknesses-likes and dislikes...and my goal this year is to make you stronger in Math, and if you don't like it, to like it a bit more! We will begin the year focusing on problem solving and working together.
I am walking into my 20th year in the HWRSD school district-and my hope is that what I have learned over that time will help me guide you towards becoming stronger mathematicians!
¡Hola! Saludos a todos. Soy el Sr. Eagan, maestro de la clase de español, del Equipo 82. Estoy muy entusiasmado por conocerlos la próxima semana. Now for a little English so that no one stresses out. I have been teaching Spanish for 32 years, and this will be my 22st year at WMS. Please be assured that the 8th grade Spanish teachers understand our students will need lots of review and reteaching of the 7th grade curriculum before starting with any new material. Together, we will make this un año fantástico. ¡Hasta pronto!
Hello Team 8-1! I am so excited to "meet" everyone! This year we will be studying Civics. We will begin the year by discussing the role of government, why governments exist, and where the concept of individual rights came from.
This year we will also look at Supreme Court cases, efforts by the people to change government policies, and so much more!
Greetings, Team 81! I am excited to begin my 23rd year of teaching, and my 13th here at WMS. Though surrounded at every turn by technology, you will find me to be a devotee of all things paper--the feel of a quality pen moving across paper, books in print, and the permanence of language that you can shuffle, flip, and crumple. I look forward to blending the new with the old and to learning from you as you learn from me.
Welcome to Team 8-1. I am looking forward to another exciting year at WMS. I am a special educator and starting my 37th year as a teacher. I hope that all students who would like assistance will seek my help. I'm here for you. Think of me as an academic coach. My motto is "Yagottawanna". If you have goals, with hard work, you can reach them.
