Heron Way Primary School is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to all users, including parents, carers, pupils, staff and the wider community. We want everyone to be able to access information easily and confidently.

Platform used

This website is built using Google Sites, which is designed to meet recognised accessibility standards and includes built-in features such as compatibility with screen readers, keyboard navigation and text resizing through browser settings.

How accessible this website is

We aim to make our website clear and easy to use. This includes:

Clear, straightforward language
A consistent layout and navigation
Compatibility with screen readers and assistive technologies
Text that can be resized using browser controls
Good colour contrast for readability

Areas we are improving

Some content may not yet be fully accessible. For example:

Older PDF documents may not be fully screen-reader friendly
Some images may not yet include alternative (alt) text
Documents from external organisations may not be fully accessible

We are working to improve these areas over time.
