Ysgol Greenhill Year 6 transition website
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Ysgol Greenhill 11 - 19 school.
Making a choice for your child's secondary education is a very important decision, and I can assure you that the staff at the school will do their very best to ensure your child is happy and we will help them to achieve their full potential.
We are very proud of our open and inclusive school, where our strong values of kindness and respect are important as we strive to nurture every child through opportunity, whilst learning in a supportive community.
I'm sure that your child will enjoy their time here, and will have ample opportunity to thrive academically, socially and culturally via an extensive range of both curricular and extra-curricular activities.
The move to a new school is an exciting step in the education pathway of each pupil. It is our aim to provide a safe,
positive learning environment for each individual to reach their potential at Ysgol Greenhill School.
Success is based on an active partnership between parents, pupils and staff.
David Haynes - Headteacher
We are kind whenever possible. It is always possible.
We treat people the way we would want to be treated. We talk to people the way we would like to be talked to. We know that respect is earned and not given.
We view equity as a basic human right; everyone benefits from equity.
We celebrate diversity as a great force towards growing our creativity.
We know the value of empathy. The act of seeing with eyes of another, listening with the ears of another and feeling with the heart of another.
We promote independence, resourcefulness and resilience as positive learning behaviours.
We should never forget who we want to be. Our aspirations are our possibilities.
We know that a little progress each day adds up to big achievements.
A curriculum that has KINDNESS and RESPECT at its core and embodies EQUITY for all learners.
Learning experiences that embrace a wider view of the world and its DIVERSITY.
A strong, EMPATHETIC understanding of our own identity and local community, and that of other people and their community.
Learning that develops INDEPENDENCE, RESOURCEFULNESS and RESILIENCE, to have the skills and knowledge learners need to manage and succeed in life.
To create an ASPIRATIONAL community of lifelong learners who are motivated to ACHIEVE.
