Welcome to the Health and Wellbeing Department.
Our Vision
Our vision at Ysgol Bro Gwaun is to offer a wide variety of experiences that develop skills and knowledge about the physical, mental, emotional and social aspects of our health. We base our curriculum on the five statements of what matter in Health and Well-being:
Developing physical health has lifelong benefits.
How we process and respond to our experiences affects our mental health and emotional well-being.
Our decision making impacts on the quality of our lives and the lives of others.
How we engage with social influences shapes who we are and affects our health and well-being.
Healthy relationships are fundamental to our well-being.
How can i support my child with their learning in health and wellbeing and pe?
Discuss the topics they are currently learning about and encourage some wider research. This could be around relationships or even the rules of rugby. BBC Bitesize is a great tool to use!
Get active! Encourage your child to practice the sports and skills they have been learning about in PE lessons.
Encourage your child to get involved in extra-curricular activities. This will aid their skills and ability to perform in a wide variety of sports.
Discuss your child's classwork with them - get them to teach you what they've learnt!
