Home Learning Expectations

In Step 2 we typically set homework by using a homework grid and we would expect to receive one piece every Monday. This can be shared in a variety of ways, including photos and videos on Seesaw, or Google apps. In addition, we ask our pupils to complete literacy (e.g., phonics / spelling) and/or maths home learning tasks.  These are carefully selected to help children to enhance and consolidate the learning which takes place within school. We encourage children to use Big Maths at Home and to make use of Times Tables Rock Stars or NumBots to support this.

Home reading books will be chosen by the children themselves to encourage reading for pleasure. Children will be given a home reading book and a home reading record.

It is their responsibility to change the book for a new one when they are ready and to update their reading record. (This is what we have written in Step 3.  Perhaps change wording to reflect greater support from adults???  - Mr T)
