Back to the beach! Juniors 4th May, Masters 7th May, Nippers 11th May
Poppit Sands SLSC was formed in 1980 by lifeguard Charlie Sharp, helped by colleague Chris Barlow, operating from a garden shed on the beach, with a membership of 12.

The Club grew steadily in strength and in 1986 the present Clubhouse was built, with financial aid from Preseli District Council, Pembrokeshire National Park and the Sports Council for Wales.
In the late 80s and early 90s the Club continued to flourish, consolidating its range of rescue and competition equipment and becoming a force to be reckoned with on the competition circuits, especially in the beach events. Much of the success during this period was due to the hard work of secretary Sarah Sharp (2nd row, 2nd from left)
