Dewisiadau 

Byddai llawer yn dweud bod pwnc penodol yn eich galw chi – ac nid chithau sydd yn dewis y pwnc. Ydy dysgu ieithoedd yn dod yn hawdd i chi? Efallai’ch bod chi’n dda am wybod sut mae pethau’n gweithio? Ydy cyfrifiaduron yn bwysig i chi? Rydyn i gyd yn wahanol ac fe awn i wahanol gyfeiriadau yn y dyfodol. Mae’r adeg wedi dod i chi i ddewis eich trywydd eich hun ac mae’n bwysig iawn eich bod yn dewis yn ddoeth I CHI, ar gyfer gyrfa y byddech yn hoffi.  Dewiswch bynciau rydych yn mwynhau ac rydych yn credu y gallwch wneud yn dda ynddynt dros y ddwy flynedd nesaf. Defnyddiwch bopeth sydd ar gael i’ch helpu i ddewis.  Gall teulu, athrawon, cyfeillion a’r Gwasanaeth Gyrfaoedd i gyd fod o gymorth ichi yn y broses o wneud dewisiadau.  

Option Choices 

It is often said that you do not choose your subjects but they choose you. Have you got an aptitude for languages? Have you got the knack of fixing things? Do you have a thing for computers? Different people are destined to follow very different career paths. The time has come to make your own choices of what you want to study, and the career path you want to tread. It is very important that you choose wisely. Choose the subjects you will enjoy and do well in over the next two years. Ask for advice and information to help you make the right choices for you. Make sure you use all the resources available to you. Family members, subject teachers, friends and the careers service are just some of the people who can help you with the choices ahead. 

Pynciau Gorfodol - Pwrpas y pynciau gorfodol yw rhoi sylfaen gref o ran llythrennedd, rhifedd a gwyddoniaeth, a dyma tua 70% o’r cwricwlwm ym Mlynyddoedd 10 ac 11. Dyma rai pynciau sydd yn orfodol mewn pob ysgol ym Mlynyddoedd 10 ac 11. 

Mae pob disgybl yn astudio Cymraeg, Saesneg, Gwyddoniaeth a Mathemateg hyd at lefel arholiad allanol. Hefyd ceir gwersi Gyrfaoedd, Addysg Bersonol a Chymdeithasol, Addysg Gorfforol ac Addysg Grefyddol. Mae pob disgybl Cyfnod Allweddol 4 yn Ysgol Uwchradd Aberteifi hefyd yn astudio'r Fagloriaeth Cymraeg.  

Pynciau Opsiwn - Mae’r 30% sydd yn weddill yn wersi dewisol neu’r opsiynau, o 3 colofn opsiwn. Pynciau a astudiwyd yng Nghyfnod Allweddol 3 yw rhai ohonyn nhw ond mae yno rai pynciau newydd hefyd gan gynnwys rhai pynciau traddodiadol a rhai mwy galwedigaethol. Rydym yn ceisio cynnwys dewis eang er mwyn apelio at fwy o bobl ifainc.  

The Compulsory Core - The compulsory core gives all students a grounding in communication, numeracy and science and makes up about 70% of the curriculum in Years 10 and 11. The compulsory core refers to the range of subjects that are compulsory in school in Years 10 and 11. All students study Welsh, Mathematics, English and Science to external examination level. Pupils also receive careers guidance, Personal, Social and Health Education, Religious Education and Physical Education. At Ysgol Uwchradd Aberteifi, all students also study for the Welsh Baccalaureate Qualification at Key Stage 4. 

Optional Subjects - The remaining 30% of lessons are made up of choices from three option columns. The choices include subjects studied in Key Stage 3, but also contain some new subjects, either traditional academic subjects or more vocational courses. We have tried to include as many subjects as possible, to appeal to a wide variety of students. 

Bydd pob disgybl yn dilyn y rhaglen A.B.Ch. Prif nôd y cynllun A.B.Ch yw i roi sylw teilwng i ddatblygiad personol y disgyblion yn emosiynol, corfforol a chymdeithasol. Er mwyn paratoi disgyblion ar gyfer cyfleoedd, cyfrifoldebau a phrofion bywyd, mae’r cwricwlwm yn hybu datblygiadau ysbrydol, moesol, diwylliannol, meddyliol a chorfforol, i fod yn ddinasyddion gweithgar, paratoi ar gyfer dsygu gydol oes. 

All pupils will follow the P.S.H.E. programme. The main objective of this course is to ensure that due attention is paid to the personal development of pupils, emotionally, physically and socially. In order that pupils may be prepared for the responsibilities, experiences and opportunities of adult life, the curriculum encourages their spiritual, moral, cultural, health and emotional well- being, as well as encouraging them to become active citizens and preparing them for lifelong learning. 

Mae Bagloriaeth Cymru ar ei newydd wedd yn seiliedig ar Dystysgrif Her Sgiliau a Chymwysterau Ategol. Prif nod y cymhwyster yw hyrwyddo sgiliau hanfodol ar gyfer cyflogaeth a darparu cyfleoedd ar sail tair Her a Phroject Unigol.  Ffocws canolog Bagloriaeth Cymru yng Nghyfnod Allweddol 4 yw darparu cyfrwng i rai 14-16 oed atgyfnerthu a meithrin sgiliau hanfodol a chyflogadwyedd. Bydd y cymhwyster yn helpu dysgwyr i baratoi ar gyfer y dyfodol drwy feithrin sgiliau, priodoleddau a mathau o ymddygiad a gaiff eu gwerthfawrogi gan addysgwyr ôl-16 a darpar gyflogwyr. Mae pwyslais Bagloriaeth Cymru ar ddysgu cymhwysol h.y. caffael a defnyddio amrywiaeth o sgiliau trosglwyddadwy. Bydd y dysgwyr yn meithrin sgiliau yng nghyd-destun tasgau pwrpasol a gwybodaeth a dealltwriaeth briodol. Bydd Bagloriaeth Cymru yn annog y dysgwr i werthfawrogi'r broses o feithrin sgiliau fel agwedd allweddol ar addysg a dysgu gydol oes. Bydd cynnig profiad dysgu sy'n berthnasol i anghenion a gofynion y gweithle yn meithrin hyder, cymhelliant a blaengaredd dysgwyr, gan eu paratoi i ymuno â'r byd gwaith, i lwyddo yn y byd hwnnw ac i ddatblygu ynddo.  

Drwy Fagloriaeth Cymru, bydd y dysgwyr yn codi eu lefelau sgiliau a'u hyder, gan eu galluogi a'u grymuso i ymgymryd â'u rôl fel dinasyddion cyfrifol a gweithgar o fewn  cymdeithas amrywiol. Ar y cyd â'r broses o feithrin sgiliau a thrwy'r broses honno, mae Bagloriaeth Cymru yn rhoi'r cyfle i'r dysgwyr feithrin eu gwybodaeth a'u dealltwriaeth o gymdeithas, y gymuned maent yn byw ynddi ac ymwybyddiaeth o faterion, digwyddiadau a phersbectifau byd-eang.  

Mae Bagloriaeth Cymru yn seiliedig ar Dystysgrif Her Sgiliau ynghyd â Chymwysterau Ategol. Rhaid bodloni gofynion y Dystysgrif Her Sgiliau a'r Cymwysterau Ategol er mwyn cyflawni Bagloriaeth Cymru yn ei chyfanrwydd.  

Mae'r Dystysgrif Her Sgiliau yn cynnwys 3 cydran a gaiff eu dilyn gan bob dysgwr: 

• Project Unigol 

a dau o'r canlynol 

• Her Menter a Chyflogadwyedd 

• Her Dinasyddiaeth Fyd-eang 

• Her y Gymuned 

Bydd canlyniadau cyfunol y pedair cydran yn penderfynu p'un a gaiff y Dystysgrif Her Sgiliau ei dyfarnu ar lefel Genedlaethol neu Sylfaen. Mae'r Cymwysterau Ategol yn cynnwys dau gymhwyster TGAU gorfodol mewn Saesneg Iaith neu Gymraeg Iaith ynghyd â Mathemateg – Rhifedd. 

Mae angen tri chymhwyster TGAU arall hefyd, y gall dau ohonynt fod yn gymwysterau cyfwerth. Er mwyn bodloni gofynion Bagloriaeth Genedlaethol Cymru, rhaid ennill gradd A*-C ym mhob un o'r pum Cymhwyster Ategol. Yn yr un modd, er mwyn bodloni Bagloriaeth Sylfaen Cymru, rhaid ennill gradd A*-G yn y Cymwysterau Ategol.Er mwyn cyflawni Bagloriaeth Genedlaethol Cymru, rhaid i'r dysgwyr gyflawni'r Dystysgrif Her Sgiliau Genedlaethol ynghyd â'r Cymwysterau Ategol canlynol: 

• TGAU Cymraeg Iaith neu TGAU Saesneg Iaith ar raddau A* - C; 

• TGAU Mathemateg – Rhifedd ar raddau A* - C; 

• leiaf dri chymhwyster TGAU arall ar raddau A*- C, y gall dau ohonynt fod yn gymwysterau cyfwerth. 

Er mwyn cyflawni Bagloriaeth Sylfaen Cymru, rhaid i'r dysgwyr gyflawni'r Dystysgrif Her Sgiliau Genedlaethol neu Sylfaen ynghyd â'r Cymwysterau Ategol canlynol: 

• TGAU Cymraeg Iaith neu TGAU Saesneg Iaith ar raddau A*- G; 

• TGAU Mathemateg – Rhifedd ar raddau A*- G; 

• leiaf dri chymhwyster TGAU arall ar raddau A*- G, y gall dau ohonynt fod yn gymwysterau cyfwerth. 

Asesu 

Mae disgwyl i ddysgwyr gynhyrchu tystiolaeth sy'n dangos eu bod wedi meithrin sgiliau, gwybodaeth a dealltwriaeth berthnasol. Gellir dyfarnu gradd Sylfaen neu radd Genedlaethol ar gyfer y cymhwyster. Rhoddir gradd A* - C am y Dystysgrif Her Sgiliau Genedlaethol. I ennill y dyfarniad Cenedlaethol, rhaid i'r dysgwr gyflawni pob un o'r cydrannau, y Project Unigol a'r tair Her, gydag o leiaf 80% ar lefel 2 ac 20% arall ar lefel 1. Rhoddir gradd Llwyddiant Sylfaen neu Lwyddiant Sylfaen* am y Dystysgrif Her Sgiliau Sylfaen*. I ennill y dyfarniad Sylfaen, rhaid i'r dysgwr gyflawni pob un o'r cydrannau, y Project Unigol a'r tair Her, gan grraedd o leiaf lefel 1 ym mhob un.

The new revised and more rigorous Welsh Baccalaureate is based on a Skills Challenge Certificate and Supporting Qualifications. The primary aim is to promote essential skills for employment and to provide opportunities through three Challenges and an Individual Project. 

The central focus of the Welsh Baccalaureate at Key Stage 4 is to provide a vehicle for 14-16-year-olds to consolidate and develop essential and employability skills. The qualification will help learners to prepare for their future by developing skills, attributes and behaviours valued by post-16 educators and potential employers. The emphasis in the Welsh Baccalaureate is on applied learning i.e. acquiring and applying a range of transferable skills. Learners will develop skills in the context of purposeful tasks and appropriate knowledge and understanding. The Welsh Baccalaureate will encourage the learner to value skills development as a key aspect of education and life-long learning. Offering a learning experience relevant to the needs and demands of the workplace will develop learners’ confidence, drive and initiative, preparing them to enter, succeed and progress in the world of work. 

Through the Welsh Baccalaureate learners will raise their skills levels and confidence, enabling and empowering them to take their place as responsible and active citizens within a diverse society. 

Alongside and through the development of skills, the Welsh Baccalaureate provides learners with the opportunity to develop their knowledge and understanding of society, the community in which they live and an awareness of global issues, events and perspectives. 

The Welsh Baccalaureate is based on a Skills Challenge Certificate alongside Supporting Qualifications. The requirements of both the Skills Challenge Certificate and Supporting Qualifications must be met in order to achieve the overarching Welsh Baccalaureate. 

The Skills Challenge Certificate consists of three components which are followed by all learners: 

• Individual Project  

 and two of the following 

• Enterprise and Employability Challenge 

• Global Citizenship Challenge 

• Community Challenge 

The combined outcomes of the four components will determine whether the Skills Challenge certificate is awarded at National or Foundation level. 

The Supporting Qualifications include two mandatory GCSEs of English Language or Welsh Language together with Mathematics-Numeracy. A further three GCSEs are also required, of which two may be of equivalent qualifications. To meet the National Welsh Baccalaureate requirements, all five of the Supporting Qualifications must be achieved at grades A*-C. Similarly, for the Foundation Welsh Baccalaureate the Supporting Qualifications must be achieved at grades A*-G. 

The Welsh Baccalaureate may be undertaken through the medium of English or Welsh or bilingually. 

Assessment 

Learners are expected to produce evidence that illustrates the development of relevant skills. The Skills Challenge Certificate components are internally assessed and externally moderated. 

The National Skills Challenge Certificate will be awarded at grades A*-C. 

The Foundation Skills Challenge Certificate is graded at Foundation Pass or Foundation Pass
