Sports day

Sports Day was held for Nursery, Reception, Years 1 and 2.

It was wonderful to see everyone eager to compete while showing great support and encouragement towards one another throughout the event.

Thank you to everyone who helped organise and run such a successful day.

COUNTY COUNCIL CHAMBERS

Year 6 pupils enjoyed a highly informative and engaging morning during their visit to the County Council Chamber. We received a warm welcome from the Deputy Chair of the Council and fellow council members, who generously gave their time to share valuable information about their work.

Following the welcome, the pupils were given an introduction to the purpose and function of the Council Chamber, helping them to understand how important decisions are made for the benefit of the community. They then had the opportunity to ask a range of thoughtful and mature questions, demonstrating their curiosity and growing understanding of local issues.

It was a very special experience for our pupils and a fantastic opportunity to learn more about democracy and the work of the council in a practical and engaging way. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Deputy Chair and the council members for their warm welcome and for giving up their time to meet with us.

PBuzz LESSONS

Year 3 and 4 pupils enjoyed a special experience taking part in PBuzz music sessions. During the sessions, the children learned how to blow the instrument correctly and how to create a variety of sounds and tones.

The sessions were both enjoyable and educational, and the pupils thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the experience. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm as they developed new musical skills and grew in confidence while performing.

Many thanks to Mrs Kate Gwilliam for leading these valuable sessions. It was a memorable experience, and the pupils enjoyed it immensely.

Garage Band

Year 3 and 4 pupils had the opportunity to take part in an exciting music workshop using GarageBand, led by Mr Bari Gwilliam. During the session, the children learned how to use the technology to create and record their own music, experimenting with different instruments and sounds.

The workshop was a valuable and creative experience, giving pupils the opportunity to develop their musical and digital skills in a fun and practical way. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the session, and we would like to extend our sincere thanks to Mr Bari Gwilliam for sharing his expertise and enthusiasm with the pupils.

WELCOME TO YSGOL Y Graig!

It was a great pleasure to welcome our prospective parents and the children who will be joining Pabo Nursery Class in September. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet one another and learn more about life at the school.

Following a warm welcome from the Headteacher, Mrs Meinir Roberts, Mrs Sarah Roberts, the class teacher, introduced parents to the exciting and vibrant environment of Pabo Class. She shared information about the rich and engaging experiences the children will enjoy throughout the year, as well as the many opportunities available to develop their skills, confidence and independence.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming the children as they begin this exciting new chapter in their educational journey in September. A very warm welcome to you all!

TRANSITION TO GYFUN

Year 6 pupils spent two enjoyable days full of new experiences at Ysgol Gyfun Llangefni, giving them a taste of what to expect when they begin secondary school in September.

During the visit, pupils had the opportunity to take part in a variety of activities, meet members of staff, and become more familiar with the school and its facilities. The experience was invaluable in helping to build confidence and excitement as they prepare for the next stage of their educational journey.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the visit, and the pupils are looking forward to returning in September to begin this exciting new chapter.

TASTER SESSION

Pupils had the opportunity to spend a morning in their new classes, meeting their teachers and getting a taste of the year ahead. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience and is looking forward to the exciting opportunities that await them.

CEFNI PUPILS VOICEs

Members of the local primary school councils met at Ysgol Corn Hir, under the leadership of Mrs Land, to discuss and evaluate the activities and initiatives undertaken throughout the year. The meeting provided a valuable opportunity for pupils to share ideas, reflect on their achievements, and collaborate with pupils from other schools.

LIBRARY VAN

It was lovely to welcome the Library Van to the school. All pupils had the opportunity to choose new books to enjoy during reading sessions at school. There was a wide range of books available, giving everyone the chance to find something that interested them and encouraged their love of reading.

SWIM SAFE

A group of Year 6 pupils had a fantastic opportunity to take part in the Swim Safe programme at Trearddur Bay. During the session, the children learned important skills to help them stay safe in open water environments, while also building confidence and gaining valuable knowledge.

Many thanks to Mrs Manon Jones for organising this worthwhile experience, and to Mrs McGilvary for her support throughout the day.

CROSS COUNTRY

Congratulations to everyone who took part in the Anglesey Cross Country Competition at Ysgol Gyfun Llangefni. The pupils were a credit to the school, demonstrating dedication, perseverance and excellent sportsmanship throughout the races.

We are extremely proud of their efforts and achievements. Well done, everyone!

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Miss Yvonne Jones, who has been a supply teacher at the school for almost three years. During the past year, she has been responsible for the school's Additional Learning Needs and Inclusion provision, working exceptionally hard to support our pupils, families and staff.

Her dedication, care and professionalism have made a highly valuable contribution to school life, and we are extremely grateful for her tireless work and commitment throughout her time with us.

WELCOME BACK!

We are delighted to welcome Mrs Rhian Griffiths back to school following her maternity leave. Mrs Griffiths will be returning to her role as the school's Additional Learning Needs and Inclusion Coordinator (ALNCo), where she plays a key role in providing support and guidance to our pupils, families and staff.

We look forward to once again benefiting from her expertise, dedication and experience as she resumes her responsibilities, and we extend a very warm welcome back to her.
