We wanted to celebrate our hero Mr Urdd’s birthday as a school! Everyone had the chance to dress in either Red, White or Green.
Best wishes for many more years to Mr Urdd from the pupils and staff of Ysgol y Graig 🎉
HAFAN CEFNI
A Thank you card from Year 2 children to the residents of Hafan Cefni.
Year 2 were invited to visit the lovely residents at Hafan Cefni in December. They received a very warm welcome from everyone there, and it was a pleasure to have the opportunity to sing for them.
A ‘thank you’ letter was taken to express our appreciation for the special welcome and the wonderful experience we had.
Both classes, very much hope to return there in the near future to continue nurturing this special connection.
Congratulations!
As a school, we would like to congratulate Mrs Elain Thomas and Mr Simon Thomas on the birth of Gruff John.
We also congratulate Mrs Lisa Thomas and Mr Aled Thomas on the birth of Bedwyr Fôn.
Best wishes to both families.
Welcome!
We welcome Miss Lois Jones and Mr Kelvin Frazer to the school as teachers.
Miss Jones will be teaching in Eilian class, whilst Mr Pritchard is acting Deputy Head, and Mr Frazer will be teaching in Ffinan class whilst Mrs Lisa Thomas is on materinity.
Open the Book.
It was lovely to welcome our friends from ‘Open the Book’ to lead a service with both units; Graig Fach and Graig Fawr.
The story to start the new year was Jesus in the Temple with pupils from
classes Cwyfan and Edwen reading and acting.
As a school, we are very grateful to them for visiting monthly, and everyone – pupils and staff alike – really enjoy the services.
A group of children from the Juniors went to compete in a swimming competition organised by Môn Actif. Well done to all for competing.
Thank you to Mr Gwilym for organising and supporting the pupils.
