Welcome back everyone. We hope you had a wonderful summer!
It is our pleasure to extend a warm welcome to our new Headteacher, Mr Dewi Hood. As a whole school community of pupils, staff, governors and parents, we look forward to a new chapter in the development of the school under his skilled leadership and commitment to securing the very best for the children of Y Graig.
A warm welcome also to our Nursery children and the new pupils who are starting at the school this year. A calendar of events has been shared with you. If you have not received a copy, one can be obtained from the reception areas of either unit. Please remember to read the ‘Diary Dates’ section of the newsletter for details of any additional events that we will be holding.
If your child is unwell and unable to attend school, we kindly ask that you inform us in the morning by sending a Seesaw message to Angela Bennett or Dawn Owen. You may also telephone the school and leave a message on the answering machine. If you are experiencing difficulties accessing Seesaw, please contact the school. If we do not hear from you, in line with the school’s policy, we will contact you before the end of the day.
Every fortnight, we will share the newsletter with you via Seesaw. In the newsletter, we celebrate achievements and provide updates on whole-school matters and events.
We look forward to another exciting year at Ysgol Y Graig.
Years 5 and 6 have begun their swimming lessons at Plas Arthur as part of their Physical Education curriculum. We wish them every success as they develop their swimming skills and confidence in the water.
