BRIDGING GENERATIONS

As part of the events for International Bridging the Generations Week, the school was invited to visit Hafan Cefni. As a result, Year 2 pupils, who have visited before, went there to spend the morning singing, chatting, and engaging with the residents, and thoroughly enjoying the experience.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the residents of Hafan Cefni for once again giving the children such a warm welcome. We would also like to thank Auntie Brenda, the Manager, for providing drinks and biscuits, and Aaron Morris from Menter Môn for coordinating the event.

We very much look forward to returning again very soon!

healthy week

The school held a variety of activities to raise awareness of keeping healthy and to promote the pupils’ physical and mental wellbeing. The activities included fun exercise sessions, class discussions about healthy eating, and opportunities for the children to discuss the importance of staying active and looking after their mental health.

The week was a very positive experience for the pupils, encouraging them to think about the healthy choices they can make every day, both at home and at school. Thanks to Miss Millican for organising.

Glan-llyn

Year 4 pupils spent two memorable days at Urdd Camp, Glan-llyn, where they enjoyed wonderful experiences full of fun and adventure. During the trip, the children took part in a wide range of activities including climbing the climbing wall, a high ropes course, canoeing on the lake, archery, fire building and straw craft, as well as a fun disco in the evening.

Of course, everyone also had the opportunity to enjoy the delicious food at Glan-llyn, which greatly contributed to the overall positive experience. The trip was a fantastic opportunity for the pupils to develop confidence, teamwork skills and independence, while creating memories that will last a long time.

The children behaved exceptionally well throughout the trip and were a great credit to the school, receiving praise for their behaviour, respect for others and positive attitude.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Miss Jones, Miss Griffiths, Miss Hussey and Mr Pritchard for giving their time and for their continued support in ensuring the children enjoyed an unforgettable experience.

Urdd Arts and Crafts

Huge congratulations to the following pupils and groups on their recent success in creative competitions in the Local round:

Casi – 1st place for creating a puppet
Casi – 1st place for ceramic work
Casi – 1st place and Mali – 3rd place in the 3D Work category for Years 3 and 4
Criw y Nyth, led by Mrs Moore – 1st place in the 3D Work category (Year 6 and under, ALN)

🥇Warm congratulations to Criw y Nyth as they were awarded first prize in the national round on Anglesey. We are extremely proud of them. 👏

SWIMMING LESSONS

Year 2 pupils are now receiving swimming lessons and are thoroughly enjoying them. We kindly ask everyone to pay for the bus via SchoolGateway.

TRANSITION

Teachers from Ysgol Gyfun Llangefni have been working with Year 6 pupils as part of the transition activities. This work will continue over the coming period to prepare pupils for September.

FOOTBALL

A Year 3 and 4 boys’ team competed in the football tournament at Plas Arthur. Thank you to Mr Jones and Miss Bennett for supporting the team.

The Year 5 & 6 girls team played a friendly football match against the Year 5 & 6 girls at Ysgol Gymraeg Morswyn. Thank you to Mr Gwilym and Mrs McGilvary for supporting the team.
