Please remember to bring your water bottle to school every day. (Make sure it's clearly labelled too!)
Happy half term everyone from the MPPS Family!
Dynamo
Huge thanks to you all for supporting our Dynamo event this Friday. We are so proud of our pupils, they've managed to create their own business, planned, made and costed the materials needed to made their produce, as well as looking at profit and loss. The advisements they've created have been outstanding. Well done MPPS! Keep looking out for our newsletter for an update who made the most profit this year!
A Message from our ECO Committee
World Bee Day 20th May 2025
School was busy on Tuesday 20th celebrating World Bee Day. Activities took place in Nursery. Not only did they work on their Busy Bee pebbles for Dynamo, they also made fabulous headwear and buzzed around the school reminding the older children about the day. The Eco Committee made sure we keep the busy bees our friend by planting up the raised beds and then making sure the border to forest school was protected so they can enjoy the ivy and brambles. Nature club planted up some wild flower containers for a display on the upper school balcony and made lots of bee baths and placed them around the school. Art club also did some honeycomb art. We topped it all off with fabulous bee posters created by year 1 that are reminding everyone that we are a Bee Friendly school! Well done for being Busy Bees team MPPS!!

National Numeracy Day Wednesday 21st May
Dynamo week has linked so nicely with National Numeracy Day this year. The pupils have been developing their entrepreneurial skills including calculating costs, counting money and working out profit and loss. In addition to this, they've been improving their data handling skills to prepare surveys to generate frequency tables and a variety of graphs to reflect their findings. We've certainly had a week of 'Marvellous Maths!'
Sun Protection
Now the Summer Term has started, I wanted to remind you of the importance of pupils wearing sunscreen to school. The sun's rays are particularly strong over the summer period and they can damage children's skin. Your child's health and well-being are very important to us. Please apply sunscreen (at least SPF 30) and 4 or 5 stars sunscreen in the Summer months. Encourage your child to wear a wide brimmed bucket hat or legionnaire style hat. School will continue to monitor time spent learning in the outdoors and encourage use of shady areas where possible. You can find out more information about keeping safe in the sun at www.cancerresearchuk.org .
Your support is very important. You can help us by:
Talking to your child about the importance of sun protection at home.
Sending your child to school with a wide-brimmed hat.
Providing plenty of water in a clearly labelled water bottle.
Thank you

School Attendance
Remember not to take holidays in term time. Poor attendance can significantly impact on the well-being and academic attainment of your child. Our attendance target is 96% for the whole school. Please see chart which demonstrates the effects of good and poor attendance. Our current whole school attendance is 94.8%. If your child is unwell please contact the school office.
Brawddegau Bendigedig Bryn Hyfryd
Hanner Tymor Hapus! Happy Half Term!
When we come back, it would be lovely to hear the chldren asking each other...
Beth wnest ti dros y gwyliau?
What did you do over the holidays?
The answer could begin with...
Chwaraeais i...
I played...
Gwelais i...
I saw...
Es i i.....
I went to...
It really doesn't matter if they can't reply in Welsh for the whole of the sentence, but using these starters would be great!
Cadwch yn ddiogel, a mwynhewch yr wythnos!
