A Message from Miss Rutledge
As the Autumn Term draws to a close, I want to extend a sincere thank you to our entire school community for a truly brilliant and productive few months. This term has been memorable, not least because of the wonderful Christmas concerts we have enjoyed, showcasing the immense talent and hard work of our pupils. Thanks goes to the staff for their tireless dedication and passion, and to our amazing pupils for their constant enthusiasm and commitment to their learning. Finally, thank you to all parents for your ongoing support, which is invaluable to our school's success. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas filled with joy, peace, and quality time spent with your families and friends. See you in the New Year!

Louby Lou Performance 'Magic of the North Pole'
We would like to extend a huge thank you to Louby Lou and her team for bringing an incredible dose of festive cheer and laughter to Mount Pleasant!
Your performance captured the spirit of Christmas perfectly and was truly a highlight for everyone.
The audience absolutely loved the fantastic singalongs, dancing and festive cheer. The show was filled with magic and Christmas sparkle. We will all be singing the songs and laughing at the jokes over Christmas. Huge thanks to the PTA for raising funds and organising a truly memorable occasion.
Year 6 Christmas Performance 'Primary School Christmas Musical'
A Mount Pleasant Special Edition! 🎄
By Mark Quinn
On Tuesday afternoon, Year 6 took to the stage for their very first solo Christmas performance — and it was a roaring success! Parents and governors alike were treated to an afternoon of festive fun, with plenty of laughter and applause throughout.
The play’s premise was a witty reflection on the annual tradition of rehearsing and performing Christmas productions in primary schools across the country. What made this version unique was the unmistakable Mount Pleasant twist — a “special edition” packed with personal touches. Miss Medhurst couldn’t resist putting her stamp on the script, adding our own teachers into the mix and making countless (and sometimes very true! ) changes that poked fun at staff, and even the occasional mum or dad!
Auditions for the main roles took place months ago, but Miss Medhurst insisted that the whole class was simply too talented to leave anyone out. As a result, every child had lines, songs, and dances to perform, with many taking on multiple roles. The storyline saw the teachers “losing the plot” and storming out, leaving the Year 6 pupils to save the day and rescue the play. Thankfully, this only happened on stage — though at times it felt likeit was a close call!
The children shone in their performances, brilliantly portraying everything from spoilt stage-school brats to gangsta rappers and frazzled teachers on the edge. For the first time, a Year 6 pupil also took charge of the computer to run the music and slides — and even when a small glitch occurred, they handled it like true professionals.
To top it all off, a fabulous programme was produced by yours truly (thank you for your kind donations!). Funds raised will go towards supporting our expressive arts, ensuring we continue to maintain the high standards set by my very talented class.
A huge congratulations to all my friends in 6M — we gave Mount Pleasant a Christmas play to remember!
Christmas Party Afternoon Thursday 18th December
What a wonderful week of celebrations we've had! Our class Christmas parties were a huge success, filled with endless fun, laughter, and festive cheer. The children loved tucking into their delicious snacks (a well-earned treat!), and the air was buzzing with excitement as they enjoyed a variety of exciting games. With Christmas music playing, the dance floor was alive with brilliant moves as everyone showed off their best dancing! It was the perfect, joyful way to celebrate together before the holiday break.

Breakfast Club
To ensure the safety and wellbeing of all pupils, we kindly remind parents and guardians that Breakfast Club admission runs strictly between 8:20 and 8:30am. For safeguarding reasons, children arriving after 8:30am will not be admitted. It is essential that pupils don't access the school site until 8.15am as nobody is available to supervise children on the yard at this time.
It is essential that every child is personally handed over to a member of the Breakfast Club team at the main doors. Please do not leave the premises until this handover has been completed. These procedures are in place to protect all children. If you miss the deadline for entry you will need to wait with your child and ensure they enter school through their allocated class entrance. Thank you for your cooperation and continued support.

🎄 Sgriblo Sydyn Wal Graffit – Nadolig 🎄
Over the past few weeks, our Sgriblo Sydyn graffiti wall has been filled with festive cheer, as the theme has been Nadolig – Christmas. The children have produced some wonderful sentences, clearly showing how their Welsh language skills are progressing as they move through the school.
A big da iawn to Mount Pleasant and to Criw Cymraeg Blwyddyn 6 for leading the way with such enthusiasm and creativity!
As we reach the end of term, all that’s left is to wish our whole school family a very warm

Timber Trail Installation
Safety Reminder: To keep everyone safe, we kindly ask that pupils do not use the Timber Trail before or after school. The equipment must only be used under staff supervision during the school day. Thank you for helping us keep playtime safe and fun for all!
Safeguarding - Access and Egress to Y1
To help ensure a calm and safe end to the school day, we kindly ask Year 1 parents to collect their children from the top yard using the designated pathways. Please avoid walking around the pathway directly outside the Year 1 room, as this area becomes congested and can make it difficult for pupils to spot their grown-ups.
Your support helps us create a smoother, less stressful transition for our youngest learners. Thank you for helping us keep things running safely and smoothly!
Important Reminder regarding 'No Nuts in School'
We kindly remind all parents and carers that our school is a nut-free zone. This means that nuts and nut-based products must not be brought in snacks or packed lunches. Several of our students have severe nut allergies, and even trace amounts can trigger life-threatening reactions. These allergies are not just uncomfortable, they can be extremely dangerous, requiring immediate medical attention. By keeping nuts out of school, we’re helping to create a safe and inclusive environment for every child. Thank you for your continued support and vigilance in protecting our students’ health.
School Attendance
Remember not to take holidays in term time. Poor attendance can significantly impact on the well-being and academic attainment of your child. Our attendance target is 96.% for the whole school. Please see chart which demonstrates the effects of good and poor attendance. Our current whole school attendance is 95.71%. If your child is unwell please contact the school office.
