Thank you to our MPPS Family
Thank you to all parents and carers for your understanding and flexibility today (14.11.2025). We really appreciate those who were able to collect their children earlier to help ease traffic and ensure everyone’s safety during the adverse weather conditions. Your support makes a big difference. Thank you for working with us!
I hope storm Claudia doesn't create too much disruption for you all.
Remembrance
A Special Thank You to Mr Newton
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr Newton for joining us at our Remembrance Assembly. Your presence helped make the occasion truly meaningful and memorable for our school community.
Well done to the Year 6 Pupils who read the famous poem 'Flanders Fields' by John McCrae and the Ode of Remembrance.
We were incredibly proud of our pupils, who observed the minute’s silence with great respect and thoughtfulness. A special mention goes to our Year 6 pupils, who have been working hard to raise funds for the Royal British Legion by selling poppies and memorabilia.
As soon as we receive the final total, we will share how much we’ve raised together as a school.
Look out for our poppy installation created by our Reception pupils at the front of the school!
Head Over Heels
Nursery Pupils Shine in Gymnastics!
Our nursery children recently took part in an exciting gymnastics session led by Head Over Heels. This experience was more than just fun, it helped develop a range of important skills. Through balancing, jumping, and rolling activities, pupils strengthened their gross motor skills, improved coordination, and built core strength. They also practiced spatial awareness, listening skills, and confidence in movement, all while working in a supportive and engaging environment.
We are so proud of their enthusiasm and the progress they made during this session!
Thank you Head Over Heels!
Children in Need 14th November 2025
Thank you to all parents and pupils for taking part in supporting Children in Need 2025!
On Friday, 14th November, we held a non-school uniform day, which included all Children in Need memorabilia.
To help this great cause, we shared the link to our donations page (see below) for Children in Need 2025, and we truly appreciate your generosity and support. A fun day was had by all.

Mount Pleasant Primary School Choir
Despite their initial disappointment at not being able to perform at Newport Market due to health and safety concerns linked to Storm Claudia, our Mount Pleasant Primary School Choir showed incredible resilience and creativity. Instead of letting the setback dampen their spirits, they turned the school hall into a stage and performed their songs. Their determination and positivity turned a challenge into a moment of success, and we couldn’t be prouder of them!

Breakfast Club
To ensure the safety and wellbeing of all pupils, we kindly remind parents and guardians that Breakfast Club admission runs strictly between 8:20 and 8:30am. For safeguarding reasons, children arriving after 8:30am will not be admitted. It is essential that pupils don't access the school site until 8.15am as nobody is available to supervise children on the yard at this time.
It is essential that every child is personally handed over to a member of the Breakfast Club team at the main doors. Please do not leave the premises until this handover has been completed. These procedures are in place to protect all children. If you miss the deadline for entry you will need to wait with your child and ensure they enter school through their allocated class entrance. Thank you for your cooperation and continued support.
Timber Trail Installation
Safety Reminder: To keep everyone safe, we kindly ask that pupils do not use the Timber Trail before or after school. The equipment must only be used under staff supervision during the school day. Thank you for helping us keep playtime safe and fun for all!
Safeguarding - Access and Egress to Y1
To help ensure a calm and safe end to the school day, we kindly ask Year 1 parents to collect their children from the top yard using the designated pathways. Please avoid walking around the pathway directly outside the Year 1 room, as this area becomes congested and can make it difficult for pupils to spot their grown-ups.
Your support helps us create a smoother, less stressful transition for our youngest learners. Thank you for helping us keep things running safely and smoothly!
Brawddegau Bendigedig Bryn Hyfryd
We are so excited!! Thanks to all the fabulous support we had selling our Welsh Cakes, we raised over £200 to buy a brand new Graffiti Wall.
There will be a Graffiti wall theme each week which will inform the Brawddeg Bendigedig Bryn Hyfryd.
The first theme is: Anifeiliaid! Animals!
We'll want children from every class to get chatting and writing about their favourite animals, animals they may not like, and animals they have as pets. They could use sentences such as...
Fy hoff anifail ydy....achos
My favourite animal is....because
Mae .... 'da fi
I have a .....
Dwi ddim yn hoffi...achos
I don't like ....because
You could really help your children at home by looking up some Welsh vocabulary for animals that they like, dislike or own!
Blwyddyn 6 can't wait to see all the graffiti ffantasteg on the new Wal Graffiti!
Important Reminder regarding 'No Nuts in School'
We kindly remind all parents and carers that our school is a nut-free zone. This means that nuts and nut-based products must not be brought in snacks or packed lunches. Several of our students have severe nut allergies, and even trace amounts can trigger life-threatening reactions. These allergies are not just uncomfortable, they can be extremely dangerous, requiring immediate medical attention. By keeping nuts out of school, we’re helping to create a safe and inclusive environment for every child. Thank you for your continued support and vigilance in protecting our students’ health.
School Attendance
Remember not to take holidays in term time. Poor attendance can significantly impact on the well-being and academic attainment of your child. Our attendance target is 96.% for the whole school. Please see chart which demonstrates the effects of good and poor attendance. Our current whole school attendance is 96.23%. If your child is unwell please contact the school office.
