Well done to the MPPS Milers
True Inspiration!
This weekend, our incredible MPPS Milers laced up their trainers and took on the Cardiff/Brecon 10K, showing determination, teamwork and true school spirit every step of the way! Their commitment to training, their energy on race day, and their smiles at the finish line were nothing short of inspiring.
They’ve reminded us all that with perseverance and positivity, anything is possible. We’re so proud of each runner for representing Mount Pleasant Primary School with pride and passion. You’ve inspired us to keep moving, keep striving, and keep believing!
Well done, Milers, you’re amazing!
Brawddegau Bendigedig Bryn Hyfryd
This week's brawddeg bendigedig can be used to check in with your friends and family to see how they're feeling:
Sut wyt ti heddiw?
How are you today?
There are various responses that the children learn from nursery onwards eg
Dwi'n hapus / Dwi'n trist / Dwi wedi blino / Dwi'n bendigedig
I'm happy / I'm sad / I'm tired / I'm wonderful
Further up the school we add the word 'feeling' eg
Sut wyt ti'n teimlo heddiw?
How are you feeling today?
and the reply would also have the additional word 'feeling' with a short explanation perhaps of why they are feeling this way eg
Dwi'n teimlo'n hapus achos dwi'n hoffi Dydd Gwener!
I'm feeling happy because I like Friday!
Don't forget to use this phrase if you want to earn yourself a Welsh raffle ticket and the chance of winning 25 dojos from our Dreigiau Iaith and Peer Mediators!
The Parent Teacher Association AGM Tuesday 16th September
The PTA needs your help!!
Without volunteers the PTA risks being disbanded.
Please join us for our AGM 16th September 2025 5pm in school or join us via zoom. Come join us for cake and a chat or if you’re busy but want to know what’s going on just log onto our meeting link which is available below.
The PTA helps fundraise amazing things for the children such as new play equipment, Christmas shows etc, by holding discos, stalls, raffles and more!
We need positions filled but also volunteers for events! Do you have an idea that you would like to run with, but don’t have the time to fully commit? Pop along and let us know we would love to hear from you!
Please Join Us. No PTA means less fun things for our children and schools don’t get the things they really need!

GRAND COUNCILLORS
Prynhawn Da! We’re the Year 6 Grand Councillors, and each week we’ll be bringing you updates from one of our Pupil Voice groups—sharing their latest initiatives and any exciting news they’d like to pass on.
Kicking things off is our very own Year 6 group: The Dreigiau Iaith (formerly known as Criw Cymraeg!). This week, we’ve been hard at work organising the Seren a Sbarc diaries and distributing them to class teachers. We introduced them to the whole school during our Celebration Assembly, explaining how they’ll be used—and now we’re thrilled to be sending them home once again!
If Seren a Sbarc made a special visit to your home this weekend, don’t forget to read the foreword inside the diary. It gives a bit more detail about the initiative—especially if your child missed anything during assembly!
We can't wait to see the diaries returned and hear all about the adventures they had!
Diolch!
PS take a look at the school dojo page to see pictures of our Dreigiau Iaith leaders handing over the diaries and mascots!
Lost Property
As the term gets underway, we’re already seeing a growing number of jumpers, coats and water bottles making their way into lost property. To help us reunite items with their rightful owners quickly, please ensure that all clothing and personal belongings are clearly labelled with your child’s name.
A simple name tag or permanent marker can make all the difference. Thank you for helping us keep lost property to a minimum and pupils reunited with their belongings!
If your child is missing any items, please ask them to take a moment to check the basket located in the Y2 and Y3 cloakroom area.
Let’s work together to reunite these belongings with their rightful owners.
Thank you for your support!
Emergency Contact Forms
Just a reminder, if you have not done so already, to please return your child's emergency contact form to either the class teacher or School Office. Please ensure both sides are completed and signed. Thank you.
Our School Rules
We have been learning about our school Rights, Rules, Rewards and Consequences this week.
Please take some time to talk to your child/children about these. Thank you.
Important Reminder regarding 'No Nuts in School'
We kindly remind all parents and carers that our school is a nut-free zone. This means that nuts and nut-based products must not be brought in snacks or packed lunches. Several of our students have severe nut allergies, and even trace amounts can trigger life-threatening reactions. These allergies are not just uncomfortable, they can be extremely dangerous, requiring immediate medical attention. By keeping nuts out of school, we’re helping to create a safe and inclusive environment for every child. Thank you for your continued support and vigilance in protecting our students’ health.
