In July 2021, three ordinary men will be undertaking an extraordinary challenge – cycling the length of Wales to raise vital funds for Velindre Cancer Centre, Cardiff.
We have decided to undertake this enormous challenge due to the very recent diagnosis of two men who are very close to our hearts, Gareth Jones and Dave Hobbs. These two amazing men are the inspiration behind the challenge whilst we may have a tough journey ahead of us as we cycle through some of the toughest landscapes of Wales, this pails into insigficance when you compare this to the journey both men have gone through, and continue to go through. During the difficult stages of the ride, the thought of these men will be pushing us on.
This gruelling 250 mile (402km) cycle challenge will begin in Holyhead, North Wales and will present many arduous climbs including cycling through Snowdonia and the Brecon Beacons. This 5-day event will culminate in Cardiff Bay on Friday 30th July at around 5pm. We would love to see you there to welcome us back home.
None of the riders will know how much money we have raised until our return to Cardiff, however we have set a fundraising target of £5,000 commensurate to the challenge ahead. Contained in this pack are many ways in which you can support this ride and from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you so much in advance for your kindness and generosity.
Thank you for taking the time to read the information contained within this pack and for any subsequent donations. See you at the finish line!
