Dosbarth Catwg enjoyed their outdoor learning this week despite the wind and rain!
We incorporated our outdoor learning with RVE - discussing the main events of Easter Week. Working in teams, we then created a scene from Easter Week using natural resources and our wonderful imaginations.
A fantastic Welsh lesson writing an extended dialogue in Welsh about ourselves and a friend. We all worked extremely hard! Bendigedig pawb!
Dosbarth Catwg thoroughly enjoyed their first Forest School session. We focused on the rules of Forest School and playing games. We explored our school grounds to look for potential hazards.
We were so proud of one of our Year 4 learners today who had her beautiful, long hair cut to donate to the wonderful Little Princess Trust. Bendigedig!
Da iawn to all our learners who performed our Welsh class poem and song to earn house team points. Gwych!!!
We were treated to some fantastic musical performances on the piano this week! All children who performed will earn points for their house.
Dosbarth Catwg really enjoyed bringing their learning to life with a trip to Big Pit. Our guides were so knowedgable, and we were able to see lots of the things we have been learning about in action.
We celebrated Dydd Miwsig Cymru listening to different genres of Welsh music. We rated each song out of 10, then used our Welsh oral skills to share our opinions.
Dosbarth Catwg have worked hard to design posters and banners with an anti-racist message. Here are the deisgns that will be entered into the SRTRC creative compeititon this year.
We ended a busy and productive half term with a well-deserved reward afternoon watching a movie with a favourite cuddly toy and some sweet treats. Dosbarth Catwg has achieved over 1000 class do-jo points. Keep it up! Bendigedig pawb!
We enjoyed our session with Spectrum learning about relationships.
We have been working on our Welsh oral skills - asking questions about ourselves.
We enjoyed a session all about keeping safe in our homes, including the safe use of electricity.
We have started making our Eisteddfod art pieces, all will be revealed in a few weeks!
We made 'coalmines' under our desks and listened to a story, to really try and imagine what it must have been like for the children to work in those cramped, dark conditions.
We have been working on our throwing and catching skills in readiness to play some netball matches.
Alex Wharton showed us how to complete a poetry draw-along. Here are some pictures we drew to show the 'mind movies' we saw when we read the poem 'The Whispering Forest.'
We had a great time with Alex, listening to him perform his unique style or rap and song poetry!
We really enjoyed listening to his poems and drawing what we saw in our own imaginations, before writing some of our own poems.
We had an interactive and engaging session with Big Pit, learning all about coal through the ages.
