Llangattock Church in Wales Primary School is proud to be part of the Peace Mala organisation.
A Peace Mala is a symbolic double rainbow bracelet that promotes friendship, respect, and peace between people of all cultures, lifestyles, faiths, beliefs, and none.
Peace Mala focuses on the Golden Rule: "Treat others as you would wish them to treat you". Its intention is to educate and remind everyone that this rule is recognised by many scholars, teachers and philosophers.
Each coloured bead represents a spiritual path.
The central bead represents the wearer who may or may not have a spiritual path. The central bead also represents the whole cosmos, emphasising the interconnectedness of everyone and everything.
Running through the Peace Mala is a simple thread which holds all the rainbow beads together. This may be called the Golden Thread of Spirituality which connects us all through the love in our hearts - acknowledging the Golden Rule and our spiritual unity opens up the pathway to peace.
The first and final knots holding the double rainbow together embody lessons about empowerment and responsibility. The final ‘toggle’ bead represents unity, harmony and peace.
Peace Mala cuts through every type of prejudice and celebrates what makes us different from each other. Wearing a Peace Mala is a promise to help create a more compassionate world.

Dosbarth Catwg is very proud to be the first class to begin the Peace Mala journey.
During the last year we have enjoyed learning about all the different spiritual paths that the rainbow bracelet represents. We have worked collaboratively to research the values of Peace Mala and record our knowledge.
We are working towards achieving our first Peace Mala accreditation , the Bronze Award, in the near future.
Dosbarth Teilo, our Year 6 learners are now beginning their Peace Mala journey too.
Years 4/5/6 attended the Peace Mala inter-faith service in Swansea in September 2025. We even got to meet Pam Evans, Peace Mala founder.
Dosbarth Catwg enjoyed sharing their learning with the whole school, our families and the wider community with a Peace Mala Celebration Service at St.Catwg's Church.
