Primary Schools could run their own lunchtime or after-school club; this could be led by a teacher or mid-day supervisor. 

Secondary Schools could run a club similar to the primary setup; alternatively, clubs could allow those learners completing their Duke of Edinburgh awards to lead the sessions. This could be in your own school or at a local primary school to support staff in the school.

Code Club is a global network of free coding clubs for young people. Since launching in 2012, it’s inspired over 2 million young people to learn about programming and create with digital technology. You don’t need to be a computing expert to get involved — Code Club is designed for everyone. 

No experience needed

Code Club provide all the teaching materials you’ll need. They’re non-technical and easy to use  — you don’t need a background in coding to use them, and your learners don’t need any prior coding knowledge either. 

Completely free

You can run club sessions weekly, monthly, or however best works for you, at no cost to your school. Sessions can be run on any computer, and all the tools you need are available in web browsers.

Our UK Growth Partners support venues in their network to start Code Clubs, using the free training, resources, and dedicated support we provide.

Who can be a UK Growth Partner?

Any UK-based organisation that works with school-aged young people across multiple venues can become a UK Growth Partner. This includes multi-academy trusts, local authorities, library networks, and youth club organisations.

As a Growth Partner, you can bring impactful learning opportunities to more young people across your community and help them gain the skills they need for the future. We know from feedback and independent research that the benefits of Code Club extend far beyond building programming skills: young people also develop valuable life skills such as confidence, resilience, and problem-solving. How will the partnership work?

If you become a UK Growth Partner, we will make a plan with you to establish Code Clubs across your network. Your plan will be bespoke to you and could include training, regular check-ins, support with volunteer background checks, signposting to specific resources, or other support.

We’ll review our partnership together every year to give us both an opportunity to celebrate successes, address challenges, and agree where to go next.
