Welcome to our resources site where you can view, download and review the resources we are developing as part of the project.
Teachers are not satellite Earth Observation experts and this is an incredibly fast moving and changing technology and industry. Teachers need support to keep up with these changes as well as support to ‘catch up’ with where the technology and industry currently is.
Providing teachers with teaching resources in itself is not innovative but many of the ideas and applications introduced in these resources will be at the cutting edge of innovation. These teaching resources will be produced both in English and the language of the Partners involved which will include the main concepts of satellite Earth Observation, ideas for lessons based around how Earth Observation can contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, ideas for lessons around how mobile data collection platforms can be used to engage young people in the process of collecting environmental data and be good environmental stewards, ideas for teaching around the concept of ‘global citizenship’.
These resources will have a direct positive impact on how well equipped teachers feel to enthuse and excite the students about developments in this area and the breadth of applications possible for better managing, resourcing and protection of our natural environment and our planet.
Producing the materials in multiple languages will enable a broad reach and the materials can be
distributed widely. The resources will signpost teachers to websites and tools that will remain live and updated after the project end thereby ensuring teachers know where to go for updated information about this fast moving industry.
