In order to measure the success of the project it is important to know where the starting point is. This is in the form of a baseline analysis which seeks to ascertain for each partner what knowledge, capabilities, infrastructure and ability do they have to deliver an effective digital education. Measuring and evaluating the outcomes will contribute to quantitatively (i.e number of teachers/pupils involved) and qualitatively (i.e. the experience gained) understanding the impact.
DaDA partner organisations worked together to design and develop a skills audit questionnaire for educators. Essentially this is a digital skills audit tool for 21st century schools. The form is designed to measure digital skills needed in order to support effective learning experiences.
Each section contains ‘I can statements’. The statements are designed to reflect skills, experience or knowledge that is required to help support digital competence in everyday teaching. The only exception is section 7 which covers more advanced skills.
A copy of the questionnaire can be found below:
Schools in all 4 DaDA regions asked staff to complete the survey. The responses provide an indication of strengths & possible weaknesses in digital skills amongst teaching staff.
In October 2021 representatives from all 4 regions gathered together for an online Transnational Project Meeting to share the results of the survey. It was interesting to see the similarities between the results across the regions.
