Algorithms

• Algorithms requires you to use pseudo code to set out the logic of a problem. Here are the rules for making it through stress free.

1. Don't worry about getting the whole thing right

2. Declare variables with datatypes (e.g. studentmark as integer = 0) (1 mark)

3. Have an input to a variable (e.g. input studentmark) (1 mark)

4. Static output t( (e.g. output "Enter a mark") (1 mark)

5. Loop (e.g. for i = 1 to numberofstudents) (1 - 3 marks) **You will probably get a mark for having the loop syntax even if it is wrong

6. IF statement (1 to 3 marks)

(e.g. if studentmark > 70 THEN

output "pass"

ELSE

output "fail"

END IF
