We will be adding a series of frequently asked questions on this page from now on wards. The questions and answers will provide you with important information about your transition from primary to secondary school. We would love to get some input from you and your parents so please add a question in the form below.

What is going to happen in September 2021?

We will keep you fully updated about what will happen in September on this website. Please visit regularly to see updates.

What other schools come to Bryngwyn?

Bryn, Brynteg, Dafen, Dewi Sant, Five Roads, Fwrness, Hendy, Llangennech, Old Road, Pentip, Penygaer, Swiss Valley and Ysgol y Felin.

Will I be in the same class as my friends?

We have spoken to your Year 6 Teacher about who your friends are, so yes you will be with some of your friends.

What are the teachers like?

The teachers are kind and caring and will help you. It is important you tell us if you are worried about anything.

Can we have our mobile phones on us?

You can use your mobile phone during lunchtime and break time. It will need to be switched off or on silent in your bag during lesson time.

What subjects will be having?

Maths, English, Science, Welsh, RE, Art, Geography,

History, PE, Technology, French, Music and ICT.

What happens if you get lost ?

Please don't worry about getting lost. You will have a map of the school and there will be pupils and teachers to help and guide you. Getting lost at the start is totally natural. Your teachers will understand if you are a bit late to lessons at the start.

What trousers can I wear To school? Can I wear black joggers?

What clubs are available for year 7 ?

A good question. There are lots of clubs available for you to enjoy. There is a maths club which will give you support with numeracy and maths. There is a coding club that will introduce/help you to improve your computer programming skills. There will also be music, sports and language clubs available. The English department also host a newspaper club which will give you an experience of creating and publishing your own news article.

How much homework do you get a week?

This can vary but all of your teachers should set homework regularly. It will be your responsibility to be organised and get your homework done on time. There will be lots of support to help you with your homework. You can ask your teachers and help will be added to Google Classroom to make sure that you are always comfortable with what you need to do.

How many students are there in Bryngwyn?
