Milford High School Charity Week

Charity Week Press Release 2024

Milford High School will be hosting its 7th Annual Charity Week May 10th - May 17th.

For the past seven years, Charity Week at Milford High School has become an extremely positive and proud tradition. Milford High School has raised just over $155,000 for six different charities (Student Heart Check Foundation, Special Days Camp, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Special Olympics, the John Drypen Foundation, and Jordan Tippen and the Annjennette Foundation). Our charity weeks have been highly successful to bring awareness, raise money, and over the years has really brought our school and community together for a great cause.

This year, Milford High School has selected a charity that is directly tied to our community. Milford will support an organization directly involved with MHS and the local community - Uplift Milford. Uplift Milford is a nonprofit that was founded by four Milford High School moms and established the Mav Shed at the high school to help students in need by providing basic necessities for free. Along with helping students directly, Uplift Milford also provides financial support to local families who are experiencing unexpected financial challenges. The organization has already helped many families with issues such as serious injuries, broken home utilities, forced job loss, and more. Uplift Milford has worked with several local Milford businesses to host a dance party for funding, with 100% of proceeds going towards those in the community who needed support. Funds raised through our 2024 Charity Week will go directly to Uplift Milford and this will positively benefit people in need within our community.

We are looking for any and all possible donations from students and families. This can range from gift cards, food donations, or financial contributions. If you are able to make any of these contributions, please contact mhsleadership@hvs.org. Our Charity Week Venmo (@milfordcharityweek2024) will open up on May 1st. All Charity Week tickets will go on sale starting on May 1st.

Our goal this year is to continue the upward trend of our Charity Week in both student and staff participation but also in financial contributions. We are excited for another exciting and engaging Charity Week but more importantly helping our fellow Mavs and local families!

Thank you,

The Milford High School Leadership Team
