Video: Logging in for Grades PK-2 (3:01)

Students in grades PK-2 use QuickCards to log in to their Chromebooks.

• Students attending school in-person on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 will receive their QuickCards from their teacher during class.

• All other students should have received their QuickCards either in the materials picked up from your school or in the mail.

1. Open your Chromebook. You will see the Sign in to your Chromebook screen; click Next.

2. Enter your HVRSD username (the 'name' portion of your email address) and password. For example, If your email address is "janedoe 'at' hvrsd.org",  your username is janedoe. **DO NOT USE THE 'SIGN IN WITH GOOGLE' BUTTON.**

3. Email helpdesk@hvrsd.org if you have forgotten your password or need assistance.

If you are having problems being understood in Zoom meetings (your voice is too loud, garbled, muffled, or can't be heard at all), check your microphone settings on your Chromebook. Please watch the video for instructions.

1. Many Chromebook issues are resolved by regularly performing updates.  Chromebook operating system updates can be performed by using the Gopher Buddy extension.

2. Go the upper right hand corner of your Chromebook and click on the Gopher Buddy icon.  [image]

3. If your Chrome is out of date, you will get that message.  Click on the Gopher Buddy extension where it says "FIX IT".  

4. This will bring you to the Google Chrome OS screen.  Click on Check for Updates and follow the prompt to update your Chrome operating system.

• This should be done on a regular basis to ensure that you are using the most recent version of Google Chrome.
