WELCOME

 Welcome to the HVCHS Service Learning Pathway, a program committed to extending education beyond school and into the community. Students will help to meet community needs through individual service hours, and will develop and implement a culminating project during senior year with a local non-profit organization. Participation in the pathway will not impact the students' academic schedule or course selections.

This inclusive pathway provides both social-emotional and academic benefits for the student participants, reflecting Dr. Martin Luther King’s belief that “Everyone can be great, because everyone can serve.” Beyond the academic and social-emotional value of participating in the Service Learning Pathway, students will also receive an endorsement on their transcript and diploma, a personalized letter of recommendation from the principal, eligibility for Presidential Service Awards, and recognition at the Service Learning Recognition Gala in the spring of their senior year.
