Welcome to AP Biology! The AP Biology course focuses on constructing enduring, conceptual understandings of biological concepts. This knowledge is obtained through laboratory experiences that enable the student to develop advanced inquiry and reasoning skills.
Welcome to AP Biology! This is Mrs. Ribecca. I have been a teacher at Hopewell since 2017, and this will be my tenth year as a biology teacher. I have taught AP Biology for six years, and have also taught ecology, molecular biology, and forensic science. I am currently pursuing my masters in science in Biological Sciences at Clemson University. During my time as a undergrad at TCNJ, I worked in a research lab on the regulation of gene expression where I got to publish my own work in RNA Biology! This experience solidified my interest in helping students find an appreciation for science and research, and my hope is that you find that this year in AP Biology.
I have an (almost) four year old son named Max and he, my husband, my goldendoodle Winnie, and I live at the beach. In my spare time I try to go there as often as I can. I also enjoy reading, binging any good show on all the streaming services, baking, cycling, and watching the NY Giants play during football season. I am looking forward to working with all of you this year and getting to know those of you I don't know already!
