Meet Your Teachers

Hello all! I am excited to be back in the classroom as an AP Bio teacher! When I first came to Hopewell, I was hired to teach Biology. After my first year, my teaching repertoire expanded to include Biology, Biochemistry, Bioethics, and Field Ecology. In 2007 and 2009, I participated in the world's longest running predator/prey research study, studying Wolves and Moose on Lake Superior's Isle Royale. This was most influential experience of my professional career! In the 2015-2016 school year, I was named the Most Outstanding Science Teacher for the state of New Jersey.

In 2016, I made the move from Biology Teacher to Technology Coach and Media Specialist. I earned by doctorate degree in Leadership in Digital Transformation in Education in 2019.

Outside of school, the most important part of my life is my family... My wife Carey and my three sons Beau (5), Boone (2), and Briggs (1). My sons keep me busy and make everyday a new adventure! Other hobbies of mine are geocaching, grilling, hiking, camping, and playing/coaching sports.

I look forward to our time in AP Biology, but mostly I look forward to getting to know more about my students!

Mr. Guise

Welcome to AP Biology! This is Mrs. Ribecca. I have been a teacher at Hopewell for the last five years, and this will be my seventh year as a biology teacher. I have taught AP Biology for three years, and have also taught biology, ecology, molecular biology and forensics. During my time as a college student, I worked in a research lab on the regulation of gene expression where I got to publish my own work in RNA Biology! This experience definitely solidified my interest in helping students find an appreciation for science and research, and my hope is that you find that this year in AP Biology.

I also help out as a coach for the cheerleading team here at CHS. I live near the beach and in my spare time I try to go there as often as I can. I also enjoy reading and watching the NY Giants play during football season. I am looking forward to working with you the year and getting to know those of you I don't know already!
