Grandstream IP phone system

This system is a network based digital communications system that functions similarly to your cell phone.  Office phones have access to directly dial off campus and long distance numbers without the need to dial an access number or a 1 for long distance.  Simply dial the area code and number and the system will connect you.   Classroom systems are configured to call on campus and local numbers only.  

Our on campus emergency number is 5555.  

Access to the PA system is also changed.  Please call Cindy in the main office or IT for the new access code.

Instructions for Voice Mail 

Voice on the new system is very similar to the old system.  Voice mails are sent to your email inbox then deleted from the phone.  Please set up your voice mail as soon as possible.

  

Dial *98.  The attendant will prompt you for your Mailbox which is your voicemail number on the "Staff Telephone Directory".

Input your PIN followed by #  (Default starting PIN is 246246#)


     Press 0 for Mailbox options

     Press 1 to record Unavailable Message.  Wait 3 seconds before starting your recording then wait 3 seconds after recording before you press # to end.

     Press 2 to record Busy Message.   Wait 3 seconds before starting your recording then wait 3 seconds after recording before you press # to end.

     Press 3 to record your name.  

     Press 4 to manage your temporary greeting

     Press 5 to change your password (Can not be sequential numbers like 5555 and must end with the # symbol )

     Press  *  to return to Main Menu

Hold

To place a call on hold press the "Pause" button.  To return to a call on hold press the "Resume" button that will be displayed on the bottom left hand side of the screen.


Transfer Calls

There are two transfer types: 

Conference Call

To create a conference call you must have at least one caller on line.  Press the "Conference" button that looks like three people.  The original call will be placed on hold while you dial another phone number.  Press the "ConfCall" to start the conference call.
