Notes on Calandar migrations
When a user exports their calendars from Google, it downloads a .zip file containing individual .ics files for each secondary calendar. If they just import all those files into their primary calendar on the new account, Google will lump all those events into one massive, color-coded nightmare.
The secret is that the user needs to create matching blank calendars in their new Region 1 account before importing the data.
Step 1: Create the New "Categories" (Secondary Calendars)
Open Google Calendar in the new Region 1 account.
On the left side, next to Other calendars, click the + (Plus) icon and select Create new calendar.
Name it to match one of the old categories (e.g., "Project X", "Personal", "Travel").
Repeat this for each category they need.
Step 2: Import the Specific Files to the Matching Calendars
Go to Settings (the gear icon) > Import & export.
Click Select file from your computer and choose one of the specific .ics files from the unzipped export folder.
Crucial Step: Look at the dropdown menu labeled Add to calendar. Instead of leaving it on the primary email address, click it and select the corresponding new calendar created in Step 1.
Click Import.
Repeat this process for each individual .ics file.
