My name is Kristine Chen. I am one of the dyslexia specialists at Hutto Elementary. I graduated from University of Texas at Austin and later received my Master's in Education at Texas State. I am a Certified Academic Language Therapist, and I am a certified Wilson Reading System and Basic Language Skills Practitioner. This will be my seventeenth year in education and my nineth year working with students with dyslexia. Prior to that, I was a classroom teacher and an interventionist/dyslexia teacher in RRISD. This will be my fifth year in Hutto Independent School District, and I absolutely love it here.
Here’s a little about me. I grew up in Austin and love exploring new restaurants and things to do in Austin. My family lives in Round Rock, and we love to travel. In my free time, I like to study up on neurodiversity, go walking, work on crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles.
I strongly believe in advocating for students with dyslexia so they can succeed in school and life. I look forward to a great year!
