I have only ever taught 5th grade and I wouldn't have it any other way! 5th grade is my JAM! I'm going into my 4th year of teaching and I have experience teaching all content areas. Science is my favorite subject to teach because the kids love it and I learn right alongside them in a fun, hands-on way each day. I celebrate GROWTH and am not interested in perfection. I believe that students cannot learn if they don't feel safe so my goal is to create a peaceful learning environment that benefits all types of learners.

I went to Texas Tech University from 2007-2012. I got my Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies and then I went back and got another degree in Animal Science with a focus on Therapeutic Riding and Hippotherapy. I got my alternate Teaching Certificate through Texas Teachers where I am certified in ESL and Special Education as well as General Education grades EC-6. I also have a background in trauma informed care and TBRI (trust-based relational intervention).
