About Me
Mrs. Funderburk started her musical career on the violin when she was nine years old in Santa Monica, CA. After playing in orchestras in public schools and taking private lessons, Mrs. Funderburk decided to make the switch to the viola when she was fifteen. Mrs. Funderburk then went on to study music education at the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she graduated in 2017. After graduation, she started teaching middle school orchestra, guitar, mariachi, music production and music appreciation in Colorado Springs, CO. In an effort to further her education, Mrs. Funderburk decided to return to school at the University of Texas at Austin where she earned her master’s degree in Music and Human Learning in 2023. Mrs. Funderburk is also a registered Suzuki Teacher for book 1 and 2 and Suzuki in the Schools level 1. She is also an active member of the American String Teacher’s Association.
Mrs. Funderburk enjoys baking, cross stitching, and spending time with her husband. She has two cats named Regina and Gershwin and is a life long Disney lover.
