HEALDSBURG UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
CONFIRMED COVID-19 CASES DASHBOARD

All confirmed positive COVID-19 incidents related to Healdsburg Unified school sites and offices will be posted to this page. For the purposes of this dashboard, HUSD is distinguishing between school-based cases and community-based cases. Our table shows two separate columns for every month. Below is a description of the columns:

  • "S.B." School-Based cases:

    1. School-based cases will potentially impact individuals' health and wellness at our school or office because there may be site-related exposure OR a positive case was on campus during an infectious period

    2. A school-based case MAY cause classroom closure or other precautionary measures

    3. We will follow the the Sonoma County Public Health Guidance (English, Spanish) around isolating and notifying close contacts, as needed.

  • Known "C.B." Community-Based cases:

    1. Community-based cases DO NOT impact individuals' health and wellness at our school or office because no one at the site was in close contact with the positive individual during the infectious period. Per the CDC definition, this means no one at the site was within 6 feet of the infected person for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period starting from 2 days before illness onset (or, for asymptomatic patients, 2 days prior to test specimen collection) until the time the patient was isolated

    2. This dashboard will include all known community-based cases related to HUSD; this dashboard may not reflect all community-based cases involving our staff and students because HUSD relies on notification from public health or self-reporting from staff or families

    3. We will follow the Sonoma County Public Health Guidance (English, Spanish) around isolating the positive case, as needed.

Important Note: HUSD does not wait to notify close contacts upon initial report of a positive case. However, we do wait for official confirmation from the public health department before listing the case on this dashboard. This could result in a delay of cases appearing on this dashboard or a discrepancy between the number of notifications received and actual number of confirmed cases (when the case is not confirmed positive by public health).

CONSIDERATIONS FOR SCHOOL CLOSURE

Once schools reopen, schools are not required to close again if the county sees an increase in case rates or positive testing percentages.

Individual school closure, in which all students and staff are not on campus, is recommended based on the number of cases and stable groups impacted, which suggest that active in-school transmission is occurring. Closure should be done in consultation with the Local Health Office (LHO). Situations that may indicate the

need for school closure:

  • Within a 14-day period, an outbreak has occurred in 25% or more stable groups in the school.

  • Within a 14-day period, at least three outbreaks have occurred in the school AND more than 5% of the school population is infected.

  • The LHO may also determine school closure is warranted for other reasons, including results from public health investigation or other local epidemiological data.

Schools may typically reopen after 14 days and if the following have occurred: Cleaning and disinfection, Public Health investigation and Consultation with the Local Health Department.

A school district should close if 25% or more of schools in a district have closed due to COVID-19 within a 14-day period and in consultation with the LHD. If a LEA is closed, it may typically reopen after 14 days, in consultation with the LHD.

REPORT COVID-19 HEALTH/SAFETY CONCERNS

HUSD strives to maintain all health and safety protocols at our school campuses. While we know that there will be a learning curve for all of our students and staff, please let us know of any repeated or prolonged instances of non-compliance to our established guidelines (as outlined in our Health & Safety Guide), and we will bring this to the appropriate school or department administrator's attention.
