Welcome SO 7.pdf

Welcome to my Science website!

Here, I will share some of the things I am learning in 8th grade science.

Our monthly goals will also be described. The goal for August and September was curiosity. Activities that  we did for this were our Wonder Journals, the Hungry Hungry Sphero challenge, water quality testing, evaluating article authenticity, cidada lab, and a microscopy lab

My favorite was the Hungry Hungry sphero lab because we got to build things.

Updates for October, November, and December

These past coupe months in science class have been very fun. We have done lots of projects but my favorite ones are the Engineering Design Challenges. My Quizzes have been okay but I think I can do better if I study. Going on the water testing trips has also been fun because we can get out of the classroom. Using the Quakefeed has also been a lot of fun because we can see all of the quakes going on in the world. Lastly, I really enjoyed building the Earthquake proof building and getting to see others and test them on the shake table.

Updates for january, february, and march

We have done a lot of things in January, February, and March. One thing we did that was fun was the launcher challenge. We built launchers to shoot paper into targets and was really cool. Another thing we did is the Newtons Cradle. We used it to show how energy travels through objects. Lastly, we did the Stream Table. We put rocks and sand down to see how water carves out rivers and shapes the land.

Updates for april and may.

This month, we have done many fun things. Some of them are, the Frogbit projects, Punnett squares, Alien genetics, Mitosis and Miosis and Rock Pocket mice. My favorite were the Rock Pocket mice, the Punnet squares and the water quality project.

Final thoughts on 8th grade

I most enjoyed this year the field trip to Old Woman Creek, the water quality testing and the EDCs. In the future I would like to learn more about engineering in science.
