Welcome to My Website!

Here, I will share some of things I am learning in 8th grade science.

Our monthly goals will also be described. The goal for August and September was curiosity. Activities that we did for this were a microscopy lab, cicada lab, Hungry Hungry Sphero challenge, water quality testing, and Wonder Journals.

My favorite was the Hungry Hungry Sphero challenge.

Update for October, November, and December.

In the past 3 months, we have done many interesting things. From multiple quizzes, projects, and thinking activities, my ultimate favorite was the Seismic Safe Building Project. I enjoyed working with my team to come up with strategies on how to not let our building fall. I learned a ton from that project and it made me more creative. I feel like I could work on time management for homework and projects. I feel like sometimes I'm rushing those things when I should take my time and think about them.

Updates for January, Februrary, and March

In the past 3 months, we have done many things. We did many sketchnotes and book creator books. My top 3 favorite things we did was building launchers, testing the Van de Graaf generator, and learning about the Ohio toxic train spill!

Updates for April and May

In the past 3 months, we have done many things. Such as, a Chickenology lab, Alien Genetics Gizmo, and Rock Pocket Mouse Project. My favorite things that we have done are the Punnett square practice questions and learning about Mitosis and Meiosis.

Final Thoughts on 8th Grade Science

Overall, this science year was great. We did many labs and projects which made my day better. All the group work we did allowed me to socialize which I am grateful for. The thing we did that I enjoyed the most was looking through the microscopes. My least favorite thing was the Alien Gizmo we did. It was very boring to me. In the future I would like to learn more about life science. I want to learn more about our cells and our body parts.
