Hello There!

Welcome PMP 7.pdf

WELCOME TO MY SCIENCE WEBSITE!!!

Here I will share some of the things I am learning in 8th grade science.

Our monthly goals will be described. The goal for August and September was curiosity. Some projects we did were, Wonder Journals, Hungry Hungry Spheros,  Water quality testing, evaluating article authenticity, A cicada lab, and microscopy lab. I really enjoyed writing in my wonder journal! I hope that in the next semester I can improve my note taking and quiz scores. I'm not doing bad, I just want to improve!

Updates for January, February, and March

In the past few months we have done quite a lot! I really enjoyed doing the Film Canister Launch where we put alkezeltzer into a film canister filled with water and watched the cap pop! We also did some really interesting stuff with the van de graaf generator and watched how it worked (untill it broke). Probably my favorite thing we did was science in the gifs, it was very interesting! I even got to pick my own gif and talk about the science in that!

Updates for April and May

In April and May we learned a lot about genetics and other things. We learned about chickenology, punnet squares,  genetics, Mitosis and Meiosis, evolution, and rock pocket mice.  I really enjoyed the rock pocket mice project. I also really enjoyed the chickenology study, and it left me with one question...

If you eat dino chicken nuggets are you technically eating dinosaurs.

Final thoughts on 8th grade science...

I really enjoyed it! But that is the simple answer. I really enjoyed all of the projects like videos and art. I was not as big of a fan of the note taking. I would love to learn more about genetics and evolution in the future! I really enjoyed this year! Have a great summer!
