Welcome to my Science website!

Here, I will some of the things I am learning in 8th grade science.

Our monthly goals will also be described. The goal for August and September was curiosity. Activities that we did for this were our Wonder journals,  Hungry Hungry Sphero the cicada lab, and a microscopy lab. My favorite was the Wonder journal.

updates for October, November, and December.

I have enjoyed science a lot this year! I really enjoyed doing the drawing activities and the water quality testing. I enjoyed the drawing because I got to express what I wanted in the sketches and drawing made it easier to study. Also I loved making note cards for studying for the test, it made it easy to access. Finally I loved going on the Quake feed app after our tests, it made it so we did not just sit in silence, instead we got to see earth quakes around us!

Updates for January, February, and March

We did a bunch of different projects throughout January, February, and March some of my favorites were..... the ohio toxic spills, stream table, magnet station. These projects all were a little bit similar and that's why i liked them. They all were very relaxing and you could enjoy learning about our world. I loved how we could learn about what was happening to our planet today in the Ohio toxic spills project. Lastly, I loved the other two because they were very hands on.

Updates for April and May

In these to mouths we have wrapped up a lot of things! First of all, we learned about the invasive species, frogbit. We also made a poster for water quality testing in lake Erie spots, I worked on the turbidity levels. Than we worked on gizmos app, and saw what the chickens kids would look like. Before the state test we learned about punnett  squares and filled in a bunch on our own. We also did another gizmos where we saw how aliens reproduced. Another subject we learned about was mitosis and meiosis and how they divide. We learned about how the certain orginisums started to develope. Lastly we learned about how the rocket pocket mouse has changed color which helps it in certain areas.

Final thoughts on 8th grade Science

I have enjoyed science so much this year! I loved how we got to work with the I pads and do hands on activities. I never have really liked watching videos in science but we ended up only watching a few. In the future I would like to learn about how electronics work and I would like to learn more about the nature.
