Welcome to my Website!

Here, I will share some of the things that I am learning in 8th grade science.

Our monthly goals will also be described. The goal for August and September was curiosity. Activities that we did for this were a microscopy lab, cicada lab, Hungry Hungary Sphero challenge,  water quality testing, and Wonder Journals.

My favorite was the Hungary Hungary Sphero Challenge.

Update for October, November, & December

My experiences and learning has improved over the months of October, November, and December. I enjoyed doing the sketch notes because I feel that it is a fun way to take notes with a little touch of you. It works for me because I feel like I know a lot more after I do them. I think I have room to grow on my quizzes because I feel like I could get better scores on them. Another thing I could grow in are the hexagonal thinking activities because I feel like I could have better ideas and connect them better. This year had been a great improvement for me.

Update for January, February, and March

My experiences and learning has improved even more over the months of January, February, and March. I found that the Van de graaf generator lab was very fun. My teacher set up the generator and students went up to the generator and shocked her. I felt like that was a fun activity. I also enjoyed the Sphero experiment. We tested the times of the Sphero on different textured floors. It was good learning experience and very fun. One more activity I liked was the Electricity and Magnetism book creator. I learned a lot of things while doing it and it was pretty fun. These activitys have tought me alot and were really fun!

Update for April and May

I have learned a lot in the months of April and May. I think that the water quality testing was very fun! My teacher took us down to the beach and we took samples of the water and tested it and took notes on it. I also loved the Rock Pocket Mouse Project and making the poster over our notes for it. One more project I really enjoyed was the Frogbit notes and project. I loved using the platform Canva to create my infrographic. These activities taught me a lot and we so much fun!

Final Thoughts on 8th Grade Science

I loved this 8th grade science year and I had an amazing teacher, Mrs. Lacrosse who brought fun into learning. I really liked creating projects on the iPads. I don't have much complaints about this year. In the future I would like to learn more about space science.
