Welcome to my science website!

Here I will share some of the thing I am learning in 8th grade science.

Our monthly goals will also be described. The goal for August and September was curiosity. Activities that we did for this were our Wonder Journals, the cicada lab, water quality testing, the microscopy lab, and our Hungry Hungry Sphero challenge.

My favorite was the Hungry Hungry Sphero challenge because I liked to build it.

Update for October, November, and December

I feel as though that the last three months of class has gone great!  I really enjoy water quality testing as well as all of the sketch notes. I learn well with the science notebook notes, they help a ton. I have room to grow on the quizzes I need to work on studying for longer. Overall, I believe that these past three months are good but there's always room to improve!

Updates for January,February, and March

During these months we did many fun and intresting activities. Some of these  things include building a launcher challenge, science in the  GIFS, and the Van de graaf generator. During the building a launcher we were given a paper cup, balloon, paperclip, tape, and a rubber band to be able to launch a paper ball. I enjoyed this becuase of how we have to push through challenges and perservere. Then we did science in the GIFS this was an activity using funny moving pictures and tried to find the science in them. This was very fun and interesting. Lastly, we did the Van de graaf generator which was really entertaining seeing all the hairs go up on peoples heads and watch them get zapped.

Updates for April and May

In these months we have done many different projects such frogbit, water quality infographic, chickenology, punnet square, alien genetics,  mitosis, meiosis, evolution, and the rock pocket mouse project.  They were so fun and made me learn so much and enjoyed working in groups.

Final thoughts on 8th grade science.

This school year in science was a great time! I had lots of fun as well as learned so much. The thing enjoyed the most was working with my classmates on science challenges. I did not enjoy content checks so much. In my future in science I would love to learn more about animals!
