Update for October, November, and december!

Over these past few months, we have done many in class projects.  Something that is working for me is taking many notes in class, so my projects are very well thought out.  I am enjoying many of our projects.  Some of my favorites were the Try to withstand the Earthquake Project, the Earth Formation Project, and the Water Testing Project.  I enjoy these projects the most because they were all quite different.  In the Try to withstand the Earthquake Project, we as a class built many different buildings that would all be put on a movable wooden stand.  Then, in the Earth Formation Project, we watched a video then did different projects to show what we learned, and mine was a sketch note.  Lastly, the Water Testing was one of my favorites because we went down to Lake Erie, and had a bunch of jobs  to see what the levels in the water were like.  I have room to grow in my ability to grow in my understanding of Earth's Science, and hope to learn more!

Update for January, Feburary, and March!

During these past three months, we have accomplished many projects and activities that helped m better understand science.  One of my favorite activities we did was the book creator-electricity & magnetism.  It was one of my favorites because I really enjoyed the labs we did in between it, to help fill out the book, and also I like how we could draw in the forces that were happening in some of the examples.  Next, I really enjoyed the  magnet stations because I was able to understand and learn more about the magnets.  For example, the same two sides repel, and the opposites attract.  Lastly, I enjoyed the Forces and Motion sketch note because I was able to be creative, and draw a lot of different examples of forces and motions like rocket ships and magnets.

Update for april and May

During these past two months, we have done many exciting projects.  One of my favorites was the Rock Pocket Mouse Project.  This was one of my favorite projects because I really enjoyed making the poster and being creative.  Another of my favorite projects were the Frogbit notes and project.  This was one of my favorites because I was able to work with a partner and build a successful Frogbit-scooper upper.  The build was called SM Rainbow.  Lastly, I really enjoyed was the Alien Genetics Gizmo.  I enjoyed this because I was able to learn about genetics and play a learning game.  I was able to learn about dominant and recessive traits.  These past two months I learned a lot.

Final thoughts on 8th grade science!

I enjoyed 8th grade science very much this year.  We did many fun labs, activities, and learning in different ways.  My favorite part were the activities that we did, like the Engineering Design Challenges.  Those were my favorites because I was able to work in groups and build fun projects.  I didn't have any bad parts of science, I enjoyed everything.  I would like to learn more about Life Science because I feel like there is still so much to learn.  I am also very interested in that subject.  I learned a lot in 8th grade science.
