welcome page

Welcome to my Science website!

Here, I will share some of the things that i am learning in 8th grade science.

Our monthly goals will also be described. The goal for August and September was curiosity. Activities that we did for this were the wonder journals, Hungry Hungry Sphero challenge, microscopy lab, using iPad, and water testing.

My favorite was activity was when we did the hungy hungry spero challenge because we got to work together and see what we come up with on our own.

Update for October, November, & December.

In the past three months of October, November, and December we have been learning about plate tectonics and how they effect the earth.

We have worked on many things for example water quality testing, sketch-notes, and different projects evolving tectonic plates movement. I enjoy doing water quality testing because we all get to go for a walk and get fresh air and test water for different things like testing the nitrogen in the water.

One of my favorite projects that we did in the past three months is the SSB Lab Report. We got to make a size-mic safe building with a group to make a building using stagy's to help prevent earthquakes. Then put it on a shake table to see if the building would be safe or not.

Updates For January, February, & March.

In the months of January, February, And March we have learned about many things for example we talked about electricity and magnetism, did a launching challenge, and tested a new stream table.

This is not all we learned but these were some of my favorite activities that we did this month because we got to visually see more things rather than just talking about it in class like the stream table. We also joined  in a zoom call to talk about planetary erosion.

Updates for April & May.

In the months of April and May we have talked about many different topics like water quality testing, mitosis and meiosis and many other things that I'm going to share. This is not all we have learned in these past couple months but some of my favorites.

This year in science I enjoyed doing water quality testing because it got us out of school and also taught us what the bad things are in the water and what we can and can not swim in.  My least favorite thing we learned this year was the DNA because there was so much to  it and got complicated after a while.
