Welcome To My Science Website!

Here i will be sharing some of the things i will be learning in 8th grade science.

Our monthly goals will also be described. The goal for August and September was curiosity. Activities that we did for this were like the microscopy lab, a Wonder Journal, water testing, a cicada lab, and Hungry Hungry Sphero Challenge

My favorite was the cicada lab because i got to see what it looks like inside of a cicada.

Water Quality Testing 2021-2022 (Responses)

Update For October, November, and December.

What i have liked so far this year in 8th grade during the months of October, November, and December was when we got to go outside and go to a bridge near our school to do some Water Quality Testing. This has been my favorite so far this year because it was fun to get to go out and see how clean the water in the lake near us is. It turned out that the water was not so clean. We were in a spot where a small type of river goes and connects to the lake. The spot of the river we were at looked not so clean because there was a lot of trash that we could see.

I bet that the part of the river where its connects to the lake is more clean because the lake is right there. This was one of the easier projects for me since i do not really have a good grade  in Science class. I had a lot of fun doing this project and i think that it would be pretty cool for our class to have another chance to get to go do some more Water Quality Testing this year on a nice day with good weather. And if that day does come i think that our class should go to a different spot instead of going to the other 2 spots that we already went to in our area. But overall this has been my favorite project this year in science so far and i hope to get to do Water Quality Testing in the future.

Update for January, February, and March

We learned about frog bits. They can grow in water and even effect some things. The rock pocket mouse was also cool to learn about. The punnett squares were probably the easiest thing ive learned all year.

Overall this year I've enjoyed science because we got to do labs and much more. What  I enjoyed the most was getting to go to the lake and get evidence on the lake. What I enjoyed least was making a boat for the frog bit stuff. This is because I struggled doing this.
