Welcome To My Website!

Here, I will share some of the things that I am learning in the 8th grade science.

Our monthly goals will also be described. The goal for Auugust and September was curiosity. Activities that we did for this were a microscopy lab, cicada lab, Hungry Hungry Sphero challenge, water quality testing, and Wonder Journals.

My favorite was the water quality testing that we did.

Update for October, November, and Decemeber

On the water testing project, I enjoyed doing it. I liked getting the fresh air and getting outside but as well as learning new things while we enjoy the nice weather.
As For the sketchnotes I do like doing them, they're not my favorite thing to do because it is sometimes hard to keep up with everything and I'm not the best a drawing, but it's still a fun experience. The Seismic Safe building project I really did like doing it, it was a fun experience and I liked we learned it a different way. Instead of just learning about plate tectonics and earthquakes in a book. Something I could work on is trying to get better at drawing on the iPad and being creative on projects that are coming up.

Update for January, February, and March

I liked working on Newton's Cradle, Experiments - Film canistar, sphero, RVR, shoe friction, pendulum, and Book Creator - electricity and Magnetism. I like working on Newton's cradel becuase it was fun to learn about and was interesting to see how it worked. For the experiments my favorite was the Film Canistar because we got to see how far the bottle cap went and it was fun to see it shoot up. I aslo liked that she let us choose what experiement we wanted to do. Lastly, I liked the book creator we did on electricity and magnetism it was a creative way of learning about this information and we can go back to it and see is nice to study for tests.

Updates for April and May

We did a lot in these couple of months! We learned about frogbit and took notes and did a project on it. We also learned about punnet squares and practice questions. Another thing we did was learned about Mitosis and meiosis, the Rock Pocket Mouse project, and Alien Genetics Gizmo. One of my favorite things we worked on was the Rock Pocket Mouse project, frogbit, and Mitosis and Meiosis. Some of my least favorite things we did were the Punnet Squares and the Alien Genetics Gizmos.

Last 8th grade thoughts

I liked science a lot more this year! What I like more about it we did a lot more hands-on work with projects and different types of labs. I liked most of the stuff we did but some of the things I didn't like as much as others things.  I liked all the projects and labs we did one of my favorites was the Earthquake shake table we did. I did not like the Gizmoz we did they were not fun. One thing I would like to learn more about in science is the solar system and the different planets.
