Welcome J.S 4.pdf

Welcome to my science website!

Here i will share some of thee things i am learning in 8th grade science

Our monthly goals will also be described. The goal for August and September was curiosity. Activities that we did for this were our Wonder Journals, the cicada lab, water quality testing, the microscopy lab, and the Hungry Hungry Sphero challenge

My favorite was the water quality testing lab because we went outside.

Update for October, November and December

My favorite topic so far this year has been the Earth Formation Sketchnote. I liked it because i got to draw a lot. My quiz grades this year have also been good. I'm enjoying how we don't always have homework and that when we do its not usually a lot or difficult. I think i still have room to grow in taking quizzes  and also group projects. I also think i could grow in my notes by writing neater.

Updates for January, February, and March

During these months we did many different experiments and activites. Three of my favorite were the Enviroscape activity, the Stream table activity, and the sketchnotes. I liked the Enviroscape activity because it was interesting how the water interacted with different things in the enviroment like soils, fertilizers, and other things. Next I liked the stream table activity because it was cool to watch the small streams carve out mini rivers in the sand. Lastly i liked the sketchnotes we made because i got to draw a lot.

Update for April and May

During April and May, we did many projects. Some of them were the Rock pocket mouse project where i made a drawing to represent the evolution o f the Rock pocket mouse. Another project was the Alien Genetics Gizmo, where we bred aliens to see the different outcomes of traits. Lastly, the Water quality infographic that i made for the water quality in Huron Ohio.
