Welcome FG5.pdf

Welcome to my science website!

Here, I will share some of the things that I'm learning in 8th grade science.

Our monthly goals will also be described. The goal for august and September was curiosity. Activities that we did for this were our cicada lab, wonder journals, hungry sphero challenge, microscopy lab, and water quality testing.

My favorite was the hungry sphero challenge, and microscopy lab.

Updates for October, November, and December

I enjoy using ipads because it uses drawing and hands-on learning. So far, during the quizzes, i haven't been doing my best but I'm always trying to progress. Science is my favorite class because we do hands on stuff not just paper work. I think most teachers should do hands on, it helps move muscles and get the brain thinking. Especially when drawing, it is calming and keeps kids focused. I'm looking forward to a great rest of the year!

Updates for January, February, and March

Newtons cradle, Ohio toxic spill, van de graaf generator are all things I have done across the months of January, February, and March. Things have gotten harder, trying to keep up with other things but science is still my favorite. (And language arts). It has gotten more fun now that we are more into the school year, we don't use ipads as much which I'm kind of sad about, but I'm always excited to see what tomorrow brings for science class.

Updates for April and May

It's the end of the school year, and I'm excited for it to be over with! We did activities like punnet squares, Chikenology lab, Alien genetics gizmo, Rock pocket mouse Project, Mitosis, Meiosis learning, and a lot more! I still think my favorite lab to do throughout the year is using ipads and apple pencils. I'm a little sad that science is about to end, but I'm excited to see what Freshman year science brings!!

Final Thoughts on 8th Grade Science

I'm glad the year is coming to a end, I'm ready to leave but, I will miss my science and English classes. What I enjoyed the most in science is doing labs. The bumper sticker shown above was one of my favorite labs. My least favorite activity was the punnet squares. I didn't find it interesting. In the future, I would love to learn more about earth science. I hope upcoming 7th graders have a great 8th grade year!!
